The Bugman Ruud Kleinpaste pays us a visit

Ruud Kleinpaste - The Bugman visited the Brook Sanctuary with Dianne Paton from Air New Zealand and they were both very impressed by the progress being made on the project.
Ruud was very excited to find fresh weka guano on our front deck and after some closer inspection, including prodding and sniffing, he exclaimed that the weka had been eating a native salticid or jumping spider as its poo contained parts of the spiders cephalothorax!. The weka was less excited with this information, but did manage to run off with staggering speed with a dead mouse clutched in its beak, we were very pleased to see another Brook sanctuary volunteer taking on pest control!
